The reason Audessy returns innacurate distance measurements is due to the accuracy of the speaker. It measures the time it takes for the tone to reach the mic. If your speaker isn't dead on accurate the distance will be off. But this is what it should do. It is compensating for your sub and...
I have the width to allow a 9' screen but the extra height would mean having to mount the screen closer to the floor. This would obstruct the rear row view because the riser can only be 9" tall.
Well I've been reading MANY reviews and it seems like I want a DLP for a lot of reasons. LCD's have lots of issues that are not inherent to DLP's. I think I am going to get the IN76 from Circuit City online today. They have it for $500 off right now, so it's $2500.
I am torn between these two projectors. LCD vs DLP, throw distances, etc. And I live so far in the sticks that I can't preview either of them. My room will be completely dark, 8' ceiling, 13'x24'. Any opinions? I am buying it over the internet tomorrow morning. My budget is $3000. Which...
I am finishing my basement and am planning a dedicated theater room. The area available is 13' x 23' with the entrance at the rear (smaller side) in the center. The theater seats I am getting are 7.5' wide when three are connected to each other, so this leaves 2'10" of space to each side of...
Watched the DVD tonight and actually really enjoyed this. I guess I don't see what was so wrong with it, and I am by no means a Peterson fan. It was a little over the top in some places, but for popcorn fare, it was good. I also thoroughly enjoyed the stunts and effects. Count me in the...
I used a Denon 3806 to power the Beta set I had and I listened to them for over 3 weeks. The Paradigms I bought were Monitor 11's, 370 center and the ADP370 rears. They cost just a bit more but it was like night and day. I've had them for over a month now and continue to be impressed by the...
The CC Outlet icon means they want to get rid of stock. I got them for this price but you have to order them online and pick up at the store. You can't get the online "Outlet" price otherwise. And they are not refurbished or open box items. They are new in the box. I got the 50's for $300 each...
I bought a whole set of the Betas and was not impressed at all for the money. I returned them and got some Paradigms for the same cash and they blew the Infinitys away. The Betas had no punch or life. They didn't sound very open. They did have more bass than I expected and imaged well, but like...
There is no on/off switch. The Paradigm PW2200 operates solely in standby mode. It happens when I plug it in or when the receiver sends it a signal. Essentially when the amp in the sub comes on you hear it. Otherwise this thing rocks. I understand now what everyone is talking about when they...
I just got a Paradigm PW2200 sub, and when it comes out of standby it makes a "Pop" sound. Other than that it sounds phenomenal. I am just worried that this is not normal and I should exchange it for another one. It only does it when then sub's amp engages (comes out of standby) or if I...
I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with Infinity's Beta line of speakers. I am considering the following setup.... Beta 20's for Front, and Surrounds Beta C250 Center SVS PB10-ISD Any thoughts? I don't like bright or harsh sounding speakers and I mainly use my system...
Just as I predicted... Finding Nemo is the highest grossing movie so far this year. It has currently made 275 million, overtaking The Matrix at 271 million. I also predict it will be the second highest this year after all is said and done. The only movie that will surpass it will be "Return of...
Was anyone else less than thrilled with this week's episode? It seemed to me like they were just treading water until the finale... And I bet they make us wait until next February to find out what really happened to Lisa. Here are my observations.. Claire's little problem seems so...
I agree... I loved the trailer and it looked like a diamond in the rough.... The only rough part was getting all the way through it. And I am a big fan of intelligent cinema, but this just bored me. Susan Sarandon blew me away though - but I could watch her read the phonebook and be entertained.
Even though it says "Not responding" it doesn't really mean it is frozen. If it is downloading info or if the Internet connection is slow to respond then it will also have that message. I would leave it for a while and see what it does. Do you have a firewall program running on your...
I really liked the preview and thought this might be something I would like, and now your review has convinced me to get it. Thanks again Ron for a such a thorough and well worded review. P.S. What a shame that the Trailer is not on the disc. I LOVE THAT TRAILER!!!
The Denon 1600 and up all feature a 3MB buffer that does the layer change in less than half a second. These are the only models I know of that have it. Most mass market DVD players take 1.5 to 2.8 seconds to switch.
I just turned to my local channels on DSS (Washington DC) and noticed that they added more.
We now get:
UPN
2 PBS's
and WB
This is very cool cause I have been wanting to watch Enterprise and now I can!!!
Just felt like screaming it from the rooftops guys. I'm OK now.
