Looking to purchase a "greatest hits" CD. There seem to be several choices. Wondering which release has the best remaster.
What would you recommend?
Thanks!
Thinking about getting a mini projector for evening viewing outside. I've seen them on Amazon for $100 - $200 with many good reviews.
Do these things really work?
I've done my due diligence and googled and searched HTF and AVS. AVS has a thread almost 60 pages long on this player but I didn't find any recommended settings. Found the following in a Facebook group, not sure if they are correct. Obviously I want the player to upscale regular DVD's and...
That was me. I got a 75" F series Insignia from Amazon for $650. It was impressive out of the box but after calibration with Spears & Munsil I found it very nice 👍
I agree, to a point. We all want these new versions of Star Trek to succeed, and I believe it's important to include younger people in the fan base. Ergo we get a cadet as Number One on Star Trek Discovery and Ortega and others being flippant.
Okay, I will continue to use the built-in Fire TV OS for Paramount+ and just purchased a 2022 edition of the Roku Ultra.
Thanks so very much for everyone's input. I really appreciate it!
Yes, I really like the ELAC's. Nice warm speaker, very solid. Remind me of my old As Ascend CBM's. No sub, love in an apartment, but the Debit.2 goes fairly low so not soo bad.
Thanks Scott! I'm looking to do both, and I'm now learning that I'll need two devices to get what I'm looking for. Hadn't heard about the Roku Ultra, I'll definately will check that out. Do you think the Roku Ultra will do a better job than the Amazon Fire Operating System that's built into the tv?
Hey Sam, long time no see! I just put together an entirely new home theater. My projector burned out, my Ascend Accoustics CBM speakers were going flat, and my avr didn't do any of the new fun stuff like Atmos or DTS-X so it was time.
I ended up with a budget 75" tv, an Insignia F30 series 4k...
I appreciate the help Todd! I've been out of the hobby for a long time. Had a first gen dvd player, first gen Dolby Surround AVR, etc. I was a daily poster here for many years, but as I said, I've been out of it so long I don't understand the "new stuff."
I already have the tv, an Insignia...
Todd, I was referring to the Fire TV's Operating System. I want to know if the Sony or the Insignia will do a better job; both on 4k UHD video display, and for the newest Dolby and DTS. I'm asking which machine will do a better job interpreting the incoming video and audio signals, and also...
I guess that's why I was asking, I didn't know about the Atmos speakers. Now, thanks to you guys, I do. Thank you!
I ended up with the ELAC B6.5 for fronts, the B6.5 Center, B5.5 for surrounds, and the Debut 2.0 Atmos Module Speakers.
