    Stuffing Question

When you stuff a sealed box with wool or fiberglass, does it have any other effect besides fooling the driver in to "seeing" a bigger box? IE, is efficiency or any other parameter effected by stuffing the box?

What to replace an Acurus Act 3?

My Act 3 has been a faithful companion for the past several years, but I'm looking to replace it. Requirements: 1. video switching - a couple of S-Video switches, component video not necessary (but might be nice). 2. Must be quiet. The only real drawback of my Act 3 is the hiss that it...

HELP! Just got my new Crest LT1000 hooked up & no sound from subwoofer

I'm using an Acurus ACT 3 pre/pro (output impedance of 100 ohms), and the LT1000 has an input impedance of 10kOhms. It is replacing a parasound 1201A monoblock that had an input impedance of 33kOhms, which worked perfectly fine with the ACT 3. What is going on? Any help greatly appreciated. . .

How's the picture quality on the new JVC DVDP's?

I'll be using my next DVD player w/ a 16x9 widescreen TV that does not accept progressive scan, so I am wondering how these players look in interlaced mode. . . Also, where can I get some info on modding it to region free, or at least buy a region free version?

    Couple of Tempest Sonosub questions,

A couple of friends and I are about to start building 3 Tempest based subs. I downloaded LspCad a while back & have been playing around with it for quite a while. We all decided to go w/ a sonosub design, 300L (just under 11 ft3) internal volume, dual 6ID inch ports 29 inches long, tuned to...

Tempest Sub with PR's - Adire PR-15, or Stryke HE15PR's?

The Stryke PR's are able to displace a lot more volume. But with 2, do I really need the extra sweep of the Strykes? Or would I be better off getting the HE15PR's since they are half the price of the Adire PR's? Also, with 2 PR's & a tune of 18hz, how big does the box need to be? I can't...
