    Need to help Mom .......

The Diva's seem to be getting rave reviews. Maybe give AV123 a call and see what they suggest. I called them, gave them my budget and they actually discounted stuff and I ended up with a killer new system. They seem really good to deal with.

Is there a sub that compares to the Hsu VTF2 at it's price point?

I am getting this Diva system to replace my Mirage FRX speakers and Klipsch sub (Which are all up for sale now BTW): 4.1 front C3 center R3 rears AV123 recommended the VTF2 as a sub at $399.00. I think that's an AWESOME deal. I dont know anything about the SVS subs. Is there a model...

    LFE vs. Y input??

I dont think there is a difference. Klipsch said there is, but I dont think I agree. I own a KSW12 and got this advice on this forum. 1. Set all your speakers to small 2. Go into the LFE input only 3. Get a calibration disk 4. Calibrate all speakers to reference level 5. Set the sub...

    AVIA Note: Subwoofer Calibration

Klipsch told me to do this because it would add an input gain of about 5-6db into the sub and make it sound better. I always wondered about this though since I calibrate the speakers anyway. Thanks for the advice! I appreciate it.

    AVIA Note: Subwoofer Calibration

    >>>I will also offer this observation: People would do >>>themselves a huge favor by going with a box-stock THX >>>configuration (five SMALL speakers and one powered >>>subwoofer, all connected normally, with the receiver's >>>80 Hz or 100 Hz crossover.) $2000 - $2500 for front/center/rears...what to get?

Actually, I was reading up on the SVS. I like the looks of the 20-31 powered model and will most likely upgrade the sub after I am set on the speakers. I am figuring speakers at $2500.00 though PLUS the sub not including the sub. I am hoping to get a lot of opinions here to point me int he...

    $2000 - $2500 for front/center/rears...what to get?

If that is my budget, what are the favored brands around here. I am looking for the best I can get for that money. They will be used in the ballpark of 70% video playback (DVD) / 30% music (CD). I am currently using a Yahama RXV595 reciever and have a Klipsch KSW12 I am happy with.

New setup, not getting a suround effect

I got myself an Avia disc this weekend and calibrated the output of my speakers. It made a huge difference. I didnt realize the output of the center was lower then the sides and one of the sides was a little louder than the other. Maybe you might want to get one of these discs and calibrate...

Sub keeps blowing fuses during high impact scenes...help?

Duh....Sorry... I have a Yahama RX-V595 Reciever and a Klipsch KSW 12 Subwoofer. Sorry about that, I should have included that in my original post.

Sub keeps blowing fuses during high impact scenes...help?

Example: During the scene in T2 when the city gets destroyed and Linda Hamilton is watching from behind the fence...the fuse always pops. During dramatic low freq. scenes I always lose the sub. What can I do? Switch to a higher amperage fuse? Help?

    Opinions on Mirage OM-9 fronts

Are these suitable for both audio and cinematic sound reproduction or just better suited to one of these applications? In other words, can I use them with a good deal of success in my HT setup as well as listening to CD's and the like through them.
