When I turn on my receiver, it turns on my uverse box, blu-ray player, and roku streamer. This all worked seamlessly for several years.
Then recently, when I would switch to the blu-ray HDMI input, the receiver would turn off. I switched the cable, same issue. I switched the HDMI port, same...
This is a new development, as I have not changed anything in my setup for several years. Today, when I switched to the Blu-Ray player (using HDMI), the receiver turns off. this happens repeatedly. The other HDMI ports and inputs work fine (i.e. Roku, TV).
It is definitely the Blu-Ray player...
No offended at all. I realize I am getting free help, and am thankful for any ideas / suggestions. I think I am doing this correctly, as the VCR also uses the same "path" - i.e. the composite connection between the DVD / VCR combo and the TV.
I have a Samsung DVD-V6700 DVD / VCR combo. This is connected to a Yamaha AVR, and to my HDTV monitor, a 2003 Panasonic. This DVD / VCR combo replaces an older one I moved to the kid’s playroom. This newer DVD / VCR combo does not have an RF in / out for the cable antenna. The old one did...
Thanks Joe I think you are right. I used to have this hooked up to a newer TV, and I used the Component outs. Looking at the manual, which is, of course poorly written, there is an "Alt Video Out" that has at least two values: S-Video and Component. Presumably, there is a third value labeled...
I have a 2003 Samsung DVD-V4600 DVD / VCR combo. This is connected to a Samsung TXJ2556, a 1999 TV with composite inputs. I know this is old tech, but I would like to get this working for the kid's playroom. I have run the cable antenna from the wall, thru the DVD player, to the TV. The...
Thanks John That simplifies things, as I think most subs have speaker level inputs, yes? But I was looking more for the "wiring diagram" answer. I will take a stab at it, and hopefully someone can confirm / correct me: 1) Run the speaker outputs for the L/R mains to the speaker level...
Looking to buy a sub-woofer, but i still have a twenty year-old 2 channel receiver with no sub output. I figure this can be done, but not sure how? Can someone illuminate me? And yes, I will replace the reciever one day (even soon, I hope). Thanks
My Yamaha RX-V470 has begun switching off, for reasons I cannot explain, about 3 seconds after I turn it on. This happens even with no other connections to the receiver (no speakers, no sources). Any ideas? Is this an easy fix, or should I start looking for a new receiver?
Ben JBL S26's for $150 with free shipping is a solid deal, and I believe you will be happy with them. They are fairly efficient, producing good volume without requiring lots of power. The Denon should power them sufficiently, certainly enough for a dorm room. I have the Axiom M3ti's...
The M22ti is on the Axiom Factory Outlet website (http://www.axiomaudio.com/factoryoutlet.html) for $360. The VP150 (step up from VP100) is also there for $315. I own the M3ti and am very happy with them. Customer service is great. Check the Axiom message boards or send Amie...
I'm on a budget for a sub. Can anyone comment on their experience with Home Theater Direct, specifically their new Level TWO subwoofer? www.hometheaterdirect.com
