Pretty easy question to understand, not an easy choice to make, though.

Console: MegaMan, followed distantly by Link. PC: Guybrush Threepwood (sp?), followed closely by Roger Wilco... And in third, "Hero" from the Quest for Glory series.

Console - Knight from Ghosts and Goblins, or his younger brother Maximo. It takes a real hero to kick @ss in his underpants. PC - Definitely Roger Wilco, the everyman hero. Ian.

Favorite PC hero would be Ben from Full Throttle. The best duo is Sam and Max.

I have to go with Jimmy Patterson from the MOH series. Great music too. Mario is always a classic too. Anyone seen the Dr. Muto character. http://www.drmuto.midway.com/ Imagine mario older and as a crazy scientist. Anyone tried the game?

Oh, definitely Gabriel Knight by a wide, wide margin. Most complex protagonist in any game I've played.

The DOOM Marine!
Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him...a super-callused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.

Gamesh....

Dunno if I have a favorite, but the two I'd like to be the most are Solid Snake and Dante. Solid Snake is a real guy and even acts like one rather than some hero, but Dante is just so freakin' badass.
