It's been about forty years since I last saw this film! I've forgotten everything about it. I might buy this disc just to remind myself what the film is like.

This is huge if it's a good transfer. Surprised that this is from Kino and not Warner.

Always liked this movie. (Perhaps since I first saw it as a kid.) Some of the special effects are still pretty impressive. (TCM showed it not too long ago.) It will be interesting to see how they stand up to the improved detail and contrast of blu-ray). However, I have been burned several times (Spartacus, My Fair Lady, War and Peace, the first Out of Africa) so I will wait until I read some reviews. I can only use so many drink coasters!

Yeah! Kino did a great job with Cast A Giant Shadow (the only Kino BD I own), so hopefully they do a similar treatment with this.

But, but, but, but why?

Doesn't WB have the Goldwyns's? Is WB sub-sublicensing the Goldwyns to Kino? Is The Hurricane an exception or are there others?

At any rate, great news! This open has been OOP in NA for ages, which is astounding given that this is a John Ford film. Hope there's more Sam Goldwyn surprises in store.

I read through the list in the article. Either my eyes are bad, or this title isn't on that list

It's at the top of the article under update and mentions the film by name as being added to Warners list of licensed titles.

This is what gives me pause. And I don't believe the film is in the public domain. I will wait for a review. Kino has done many blu rays of Selznick films, but in my opinion, not one looks or sounds as good as the standard DVD that uses the "chain of title" master elements. Kino just did transfers of Selznick's personal 35mm prints.

I know Wuthering Heights was re-released on DVD a few years ago, but the article was unclear if a Blu-ray version is in the works. What would Samuel Goldwyn say if he knew Wuthering Heights has not been released on Blu-ray? 'Why not, fchrissakes!'

Can't wait to order it. This is REALLY good news for classic film fans like myself. I can't help wonder who ended up owning the rights to Porgy and Bess, which is conspicuously absent from the "Goldwyn 74" licensed to WB, as it is certainly another MIA film that Sam Goldwyn would be rolling over in his grave about. There is 70mm print, evidently, but it seems doomed to go the route of The Alamo if nobody steps up to the plate, which would be a real tragedy.
