I just hooked up my ipod to the line in of my Mac pro, and can see that when it is outputting sound the line-in accurately notes when it is seeing signal on that line.

However the contents of the Line in are not echoed in the line out. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

NM figured out the Mac doesnt allow this by default so I installed Line in from Rogue Amoeba. Problem Solved!
