Who's in besides me and Ron? =) How many days you think you will be there? Who is the HTF poker championnnnnnn? How many Elvii will we torture? We need answers!
I am currently planning to be there, arriving 7/16, departing 7/20.
I don't know if there are any plans already for Monday evening, but that night, The Beatles LOVE will be playing at the Mirage. Does anyone want to see it?
Well, I sent my e-mail to Ron, so I'm in! Arriving 16th (possibly earlier), leaving 20th.
Steve, count me in for "Love". Not sure if the schedule will allow for any more free evenings, but I'd also like to see "Spamalot" which will be playing at the Wynn. And of course, there's always Blue Man Group which is currently right there in the Venetian.
Sam, are you guys taking one of those one-day tours out of Vegas to the Grand Canyon??
It sounds like Tue/Wed/Thu evenings may be spoken for with EMA activities, although that is not certain. The only definite free night is Monday.
Tix are not yet on sale for LOVE, but they typically have a 7:00pm and 10:00pm show on Monday nights.
I've seen it from rows B and K. The Upper Orchestra seats have a better overall view of the stage, and are cheaper! If I had my druthers, I'd see it this time in sections 201-200-202 or 207-209-208. That will give a front-on view of one of the two wide projection screens. But any seat is good...
If ya'll want to pick a show, we can plan to meet up before or after! Sam, would the 10:00pm show give you enough time to get back from your side trip?
Steve, as you're the "Love" veteran, I'll take your word on the seats. Front row in those sections looks great! I like the "cheaper" part...
If Ron follows the same plan he's done for past HTF meets, I suspect after he finalizes the list of attendees he'll create a private forum where we can all get together and plan stuff like this.
Standard rates, just going in via the AA site, were $50 more. The lower fare was competitive with Southwest Airlines, but with direct flights instead of connecting flights.
I havent started looking at Airfare yet, but will probably go Jet Blue or Continental from Newark.
No, I'm not taking a tour to GC, we will be driving ourselves. Have done it before, it's a long exhausting day but eminantly doable =) Once I have dates firmed up will let others know our plan, but for now dont want to get too involved with making a 'group trip' kind of thing as this will be the day I spend most with my folks and they are the kind of people that like to have their options open to just hop in a car and drive and do their own thing without worrying about what 'everyone else' is doing.
Sam, no worries, I wasn't trying to make it a group thing, I was actually going to try to dissuade you from taking one of those one-day scheduled tours from LV as I don't think that's a good way to see the Canyon. Since you're driving yourself and you've done it before, more power to you!
That's cool. Sorry if I seemed to be bullheaded the way I wrote it, I just dont want to make committments that will interfere with that part of the trip that I hope to spend with my folks. Regardless of how people do it I recommend they take a day and go see the Canyon, it is definitly doable and worth it for sure!
Going again this year. Already booked and paid for my flight. I fly from San Juan, PR and when it was first announced round trip airfare to Vegas via American was ~ $326 , eight days later it was $456, which I bought. With rising gas prices I'm sure this will go up insanely! Last year I was going to bring a girlfriend with me, but this was ~3 weeks prior to the meet and it would have cost me $1,100 !! That's why I went alone. Later, Raul
