yes.
just a fyi-I note from HKflix page that THE DEVILS is out in a remastered anamorphic widescreen disc with extras. R3 Warner apparently.
I'd say it was legit.

To follow on from the upcoming Lewton set, how about one or two boxed sets of Vintage Hollywood Horror, made up of combinations of the following titles:

Dr X (Warner, 1932)
The Mask of Fu Manchu (MGM, 1932)
Mad Love (MGM, 1935)
Mark of the Vampire (MGM, 1935)
The Devil Doll (MGM, 1935)
The Walking Dead (Warner, 1936)
The Return of Dr X (Warner, 1939)
The Spiral Staircase (RKO, 1945)
The Beast With Five Fingers (Warner, 1946)
Plus keepcase reissues of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and The Mystery of the Wax Museum/House of Wax.

Regarding the inclusion of available titles, I'd like to say I'm delighted when Warner includes a keepcase edition of a title previously released in a snapper in their boxed sets, mildly put out when they include a keepcase title that's already available in a keepcase (eg The Letter in the Bette Davis box), but would *refuse* to buy any boxed set containing titles already available in other boxed sets.

Douglas R - I was about to suggest a historical themed box set and you JUST beat me to the punch.
MGM owns a lot of glenn Ford films and I would love to see Cimarron, Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Teahouse of the August Moon.
An Esther Williams box set - including my favorite, Pagan Love Song. Turner has a lot of filmed outtakes for this movie.
how about a Leslie Caron box with Lili =- SE of Gigi with doc aboput the making of the film and a 5.1 track, Gaby, American in Paris SE.
I am amazed that we have not gottena Garland box volume 2. And please give us a Doris Day Volume 2. The doris box I recently got has been a gem but it only makes me want more of her musicals.

The great Warner movies collection.

I'll trust their judgment after the recent controversial classics set.

So anything you like guys!

They have enough good unreleased stuff in their MGM, RKO, and Allied Artists libraries to do a nice Jacques Tournier box set. He might not have the name appeal to satisfy the WB marketing folks, though.

Cat People
Stars in My Crown
I Walked with a Zombie
Berlin Express
The Leopard Man
Wichita

I'll second the suggestion for a Nicholas Ray box set as well.

Regards,

Has anyone else noticed that with the exception of the "best" MGM musicals, classic MGM movies get a so-so or non-restored release on dvd by WB? Clearly, they want their own studio to shine brighter than Metro's.

Mark, you'll be happy to know that an Esther Williams set is being prepared by Warner for a release in the coming months. Check out the transcript of the 3/29/05 chat with George Feltenstein elsewhere on this board.

Love the idea of a Jane Powell collection- a vastly underrated talent.

nice to see at least one other person appreciates Hedy, Armin.
and i know i would love to see WB do a doc about her for it-
she led a very interesting life, indeed.
i know i'd snap that box up.

also kudos for someone suggesting Jane Powell.

i would love to see stand alone William Powell boxset (with or without Loy material)

as well as a set for John Garfield

I certainly would buy a Jane Powell box set, one of the most underated MGM stars really needs a better treatment.

An underrated actress who really deserves rediscovery(yes, she's a personal favorite!):

The Eleanor Parker Signature Collection
Caged- set for a 2005 release last year, where is it?
Interrupted Melody
Between Two Worlds
Voice of the Turtle
Valley of The Kings

At least Scaramouche is already available!
