Nice to see BB having an Eastwood sale, since I missed out on the one Walmart had. I only need two from that list, but still. Soon I will complete my collection and the Thuggee will be all powerful again.

Not to mention what this week means for my stalled Interocitor project.

I'll be grabbing Double Indemnity and Satan's Playground. May also spring for that Poseidon/The Perfect Storm 2-for-20 deal at BB.

wait ... Kicking & Screaming is now a Criterion Collection? As in Will Ferrell coaching the kids' soccer team?

Curiously, there is an added scene of Robert Duvall's character helping a wounded Vietnamese child soccer player after his team is decimated by the one Duvall coaches as well as one of Will Ferrell's character stealing his surfboard - a must for a "Redux" of any stripe. :)

Tony: What are you saying? Did you actually pick it up at CC after all?

Did you find a DVD copy somewhere? The new release?

Enquiring minds want to know... :D

I guess I'll answer my own question as I stumbled upon THIS THREAD while tip-toeing around over in Software--movies, etc.

I guess CC IS selling Last Voyage for just $6.99 this week!

Has anyone here pre-ordered anything from Amazon.com lately?

I've pre-ordered Survivor: Palau (due out August 29).

My confirmation e-mail, however, tells me they don't expect to ship until September 3! The add not to expect delivery until September 11-12!!!

I was actually kind of hoping to have this close to release date. This is a reason I don't usually order "gotta have NOW" titles over the internet...but their price is so much better than what I expect to see elsewhere.

Any recent experiences?

Is that with their "free" shipping option? They always delay shipping when you use that option to try and goose you into paying extra for a faster delivery.

Also, isn't Sept 3 a Sunday? So add a couple days more to that.

Mike, I find that Amazon puts a lot of cushion in their shipping estimates. I've always gotten my items, even with free shipping, much faster than the estimates indicated.

Any order I select for "free" shipping always takes at least two weeks to reach me, sometimes three. Even if all items are in stock when I order (i.e. no backorders or pre-orders).

If I pay the next higher grade in shipping, I get the items in about 4 days.

Conspiracy theory or not, it's hard to argue with actual, bonafide experience. Not to mention the fact that I can get items from Amazon UK in about 1/2 the time of Amazon US's "Free" option. Just this week, I ordered from Amazon UK last Saturday (four CD's and a DVD), it was shipped on Monday, it was in my mailbox today (Friday). No, it wasn't free, but it was also coming from a different continent.
