Don't have Thanksgiving where I Live. So what are you giving thanks for? it baffles me.

One National company where I live , has 30% off every dvd and bluray (including new titles). Now that is a real savings. It is for on -line orders only. If buying in store you still get 20% off every title. They have these sales every couple of months. There must be a huge profit on selling dvds and blurays if one major country wide store can give 30% discount on EVERY title.

I got a few UHD titles on Amazon Thursday morning before leaving for a family outing. Today we bought a Samsung 49 inch 4K display for our master bedroom at the Best Buy in Traverse City, Michigan - - it's being shipped to our home down state.

I received a Black Friday sale email from Amazon.uk today. I didn't know that Black Friday was anything in the UK.

Interesting so it's a religious holiday. The trouble is with religious holidays is that few people even relate to them as being religious holidays but just an excuse to have a party and give often unwanted presents, such as Xmas and Easter.. Today we need to be more concerned about what is happening in the world today such as poverty and terrorism and mass killings due to no gun control (as in the USA).

I found a couple of 3D blu's in the Big Lots BF selection.

Pixels 3D $2.88
Walking With Dinosaurs 3D $2.88

Not sure if there were any others that sold out before I got there. I also saw Immortals 3D there a few weeks back for $5.

So I went to Bed, Bath & Beyond on Brown Saturday (the day people realize what they’ve spent on Black Friday and, you know...). Got a Nokia Body+ BMI scale, the last one on the floor, which was already marked down like $50. But nobody could remove the security device. I think they ended up cutting it off. For my wait, I was given the additional Black Friday discount. So, yay me, plus my BMI is great!

I picked up Suicide Squad 3D from Amazon, but that's about it. I had been waiting for a good price for that since it was released around this time last year, but don't think it had ever gotten any lower than $24.99. For the $9.99 that they dropped it to, I was willing to give it a go.

Quiet Black Friday for us.

Picked up The War for the Planet of the Apes from Amazon for $7.99 (Blu).

Other than that just leisurely stopped at Home Depot late morning and picked up some great 3-step Gorilla Ladder stepstools for just $9.98. Great product at an incredible price.

On Saturday, I picked up a new stand at the Walmart in Houghton Lake, Michigan for the new 49-inch Samsung 4K display we bought the day before at the Best Buy in Traverse City -- we live in southeastern Michigan, but always spend Thanksgiving at my parents home in northern Michigan. The Samsung is replacing an old Toshiba 37-inch 720p display in our master bedroom which had a pedestal stand and was sitting on an old microwave cart to get it high enough to see while lying in bed. Most new TV's have triangle shaped feet at both ends of the display, so will not fit on the narrow microwave stand. The new TV stand has a mounting arm for a flat screen display up to 55-inches.

Well I won my 3D tv after some haggling (you're supposed ta haggled!!! 10 for this, you must be MAD!!!) Used Samsung UN55JU7100 with active 3D so I'll get the glasses later after I try it out for a few eye straining weeks (scratch that, bought some so I can go ahead and try out everything, can always sell later if things don't work out). My first used TV. So much can go wrong... biting fingernails. It was $750, would be $1400 new. I would have gotten a 65" LG instead if I was spending that much. But this looks like fun.

I've decided I'd return Kong Skull Island in favor of getting the 3D one in the future when it not so expensive. I opened Mad Max already or I'd prob returned it too for 3D. oh well... still a good deal for the others in that set.

Not a bunch, actually. My admittedly small list (compared to prior years) got cut even more:

Hunger Games
Catching Fire
Mockingjay 1
Mockingjay 2
Man of Steel
Batman v Superman
Suicide Squad
X Men Apocalypse
Alien Covenant
Batman and Harley Quinn

All from BB and all UHD. Total was $149, with tax. Had a GC which knocked it down to $129. I spent a whole lot more than that in food over the weekend. :)

Red and red 2 uhd $9.99 each
Hidden figures bd - $6
Cars 3 bd $10

Tempted by several other titles of course.

I tried to stick to my wish list this year!

I usually get gift cards in December so I may pick up more then.

I received a Black Friday sale email from Amazon.uk today. I didn't know that Black Friday was anything in the UK.

Businesses in Canada have adopted "Black Friday" as a sales strategy, even though it has nothing to do with any holiday such as Thanksgiving.

"Black Friday" sales in Canada are kind of a joke. The savings are nowhere near the level in the US. For example, I picked up the "Wonder Woman" UHD for 20 bucks, regularly 33.

The best "deal" I got was a 280 piece socket and wrench set (standard and metric) for 100 bucks, regularly 350.

Well, I can't say the same thing. I bought 22 movies on 4K/UHD disc since last Thanksgiving. Plus, another 10-12 Blu-ray titles.

Wow! You'll wear out that credit card, Robert. :P

I bought four films on UHD disc and two on BD over that time period, along with the aforementioned 4K display and stand for our master bedroom. Also, for Cyber Monday today I bought a new 27-inch Dell monitor for my PC. I wasn't planning on getting a new one just yet, but the deal was too good to pass up and I did want a new, larger monitor for editing my photos.
