Universal has an excellent classic film library...

They really need to re-release their Marx Bros. films to DVD (special editions) or let Criterion handle them. The idea of "The Marx Brothers at Paramount Studios" box set by Criterion sounds really nice.

Eugene, I know you've been spoken to by another moderator already. But all these posts of yours in this section make the board look silly. Expect their demise before long.

The weird ole guy would like to see Universal release the Golden Oldies such as

THE TIME OF THEIR LIVES: Abbott & Costello's best. And
SAME TIME, NEXT YEAR: with Alan Alda and Ellen Burstein.

I would IMMEDIATELY buy a widescreen release of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", starring Peter Frampton and the Bee Gees! I just broke down and got the old pan-and-scan DiscoVision laserdisc from Ebay, even though it looks awful in p&s I HAD to have something to tide me over until they finally put out a good version!

Speaking of Universal Films from the fifties: How about brand new anamorphic, discreet stereo versions of their mid fifties cinemascope films like THE BLACK SHIELD OF FALSWORTH with Tony Curtis (Universal's first cinemascope film?), and How about a serious reworking of Audie Murphy's TO HELL AND BACK?

I'll second Curse of the Werwolf (1961) and add
The Legacy (1979), with Kathryn Ross and Sam Elliot.
