Looking through the episode guide for season one brings back a lot of fond memories, but there are also some episodes I don't remember. I'm looking forward to this one.
That episode was "Soul Club" (also a Season 1 episode), the song "Bandela" (on the first album).
The site David referenced in his first post (http://www.cmongethappy.com) has a wealth of info for Partridge fans. I was reading through it last night and was inspired to pull out my CD of "The Partridge Family Album". OK, this is just bubblegum pop music - but it's GOOD bubblegum pop music - catchy, tuneful, well-produced. Still puts a smile on my face after all these years.
I still have 4 or 5 of their records, along with a Brady kids record and most of the Jackson Five records (which I started getting after seeing the cartoon). I don't think I had a non-TV(including Disney) record until I was 10.
it doesn't surprise me... i've been seeing the commercials on VH1 for a casting call for the new Partridge Family.
They probably won't release this until that season comes out and there's renewed interest in it... hmmm, didn't something like this happen with Starsky & Hutch recently?
I'm sorry to hear about this new version. The state of rock music was so great and so vibrant when they made the Partridge Family, that even though the music was toned down, it couldn't help but still reflect some of that, and a lot of it was quite good.
The thought of weekly tv songs based on what is already pathetic top 40 music is one of the most nauseating concepts I've heard of in a while.
I cant wait for the Partridges to come out. I will certainly buy the entire series. I especially loved the ones when Danny was up to no good, selling Keiths possessions, writing bogus newspaper stories for publicity, etc. They were always funny.
TVShowsonDVD has artwork posted now. The 3 disc concern won't be a problem if they are dual sided. The 25 first season Brady Bunch episodes are on 4 single sided discs, along with a 20 minute featurette.
You're welcome. Credit goes to Scott of CmonGetHappy.com though.
I've amended my news to mention that Sony rarely uses flipper discs for TV-DVDs, but OFTEN puts too many episodes onto each DVD...happens all the time, unfortunately. :frowning:
Has anyone heard if the music on the discs will be the original broadcast mono or re-done with stereo recordings? Just curious since music is such a big part of the show...
