speakers for Yamaha 620 (1 Viewer)

Helping a friend......have money to spend, not sure if he will keep the receiver (trying to get him to upgrade),
I am aware of power limitations on the 620, looking for suggestions on best home theater speaker set-up that this receiver can power?

I too own this receiver and would love some insight from the group.

I'm trying to decide if I should go with the highest tier of speakers available from the local Super Chains (Polk, JBL), or get some entry-level models from the specialists.

I’m interested in full size mains and a matching center. The setup is mostly for movies, but I also enjoy multi-channel music. I think I can pry away about $800-900 from the Queen… er.. my WIFE.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
