Have not tried to drive it using the clutchless manual mode yet (have to figure this out yet), but have really no complaints with the CVT. Aurel, have been dying to hear a daily drivers experience with (some reviewers are so anti-automatic or hybrid, if the model in question is offered in a manual) Love to hear your impressions of the clutchless manual shift, if you get round to it...!

If you want to check on how different dealer conduct themselves, go to minicooperonline. They have a dealer feedback section there with comments from buyers from those dealers. Usually they will mention the markup policies of the dealer. Many require a package with floor mats, paint protection and rustproofing for a little over $500, some require that you order a specified amount, $900-$1500 usually, of accessories. This sucks IMO but at least you do get something for the money and it is not pure markup.

While the current Mini Cooper is a blast to drive, do be aware of one major downside: the car has a very stiffly-sprung suspension. Not a good idea on poor quality freeways in northern California, where you feel every Botts dots, expansion joint, water-dissipating grooves and pothole patch quite easily.

This is unfortunatley true, BUT, again this is part of the fun of the car :D

If you are in need of a plush ride, definetelly look somewhere else.

This is my first import car, having drieven only large American cars in the past ... and it is a big difference.
