You should see the posts on bluray.com.. it started slow then boom.. people posting right and left their hauls. It really caught most off guard that they started at 1am cst on walmart.. then BB kicked in like 20mins later then Amazon price matched like half hour later.

I wonder how Amazon fared with price matching after the fact Walmart sold out and no notice.

Whoever was discussing buying Dredd 3D.. I've had this discussion with my buddies and it is easily one of the best movies we've seen that came in under the radar and the 3D was no letdown. I'd also highly suggest if you like Dredd to watch Almost Human on fox. Karl Urban is awesome in these types of roles. I wonder if any of you have noticed the Blade Runner tips in Human. Anyway, Dredd is money well spent full price or on sale. In fact it's 3D glasses time tonight.

It figures. I checked at 1 AM Eastern, and when nothing was online yet, I went to bed. Woke up this morning, all of the best deals are now in store only.

Against my better judgment, I went to two local Walmarts this morning looking for the titles I missed out on online. The workers were understandably disgruntled about having to miss Thanksgiving dinner with their families in order to wrangle the mobs. The surprising thing to me was that at one of the Walmarts all of the Black Friday doorbusters were already out in the stores, completely unguarded. They had printouts taped to them stating the items would not ring up at the register until the designated times, but there would be nothing to stop someone breaking into the pallet, hiding the item elsewhere in the store where nobody would think to look for it, and then retrieve it once the sale prices are in effect.Unfortunately, while the online prices ARE active in stores, none of the stores appear to have received any extra stock for Black Friday. The selection at both was the same it was a week ago. I don't think either of the TV Blu-Rays I was looking for had EVER been stocked in-store.I was able to pick up White House Down for $9.96+tax.Question about Amazon's lightning deals: If I put an item in my cart before a sale goes into effect, does it automatically update with the lightning deal price once the clock starts?

I believe the way the Lightning Deals work is you have to put it into the cart after the start time, and you have to complete your purchase in 15 minutes. If you leave it there longer than 15 minutes, it reverts back to normal price. Of course, you can always re-add it to your cart (provided they haven't run out).

By the way, has anyone seen anyone having a deal with Iron Man 3?

Seen new BR's as low as 18 bucks today on Ebay but that's it.

"Arrow" lightning deal just went live, and apparently is already 100 percent claimed. I clicked on it right when the page refreshed and managed to lock it in.

I clicked on it from my phone the minute it went live and it was gone. Strangely, I'm okay with that. I may order from Wal Mart. We'll see.

Are they restocking during the sale period? Walmart.com sold out by 2:30ish AM Eastern today. It'd be great if they would, because the one item I was really bummed to miss out on was the Person of Interest: Season Two Blu-Ray for $9.96.

Oops. I had checked the site and saw it was still $9.96...but never bothered to see if I could order it. That functionality is gone.

Went to Walmart around midnight. Didn't feel the need to get there too early and fight the crowd as there's nothing I really needed, though I did see a couple TV sets I in the flyer I hoped to find.

By the time I checked out, I had about $160 worth of movies and TV. I have no willpower. :)

I was cured of going to walmart last year. That was surreal and I left with nothing.

Having a greater time shopping on line. Of course, I'm not after anything big ticket. A few games for my PC and some flicks and shows. Enjoying the hell out of Trek TOS remastered enhanced. I had no idea I'd like them so much after reading comments on the net like "the redone effects are like a playstion 2 game!!". Glad the old versions are in the set too, but the new stuff makes it feel new again. They actually did a great job. I don't think I'll have to buy Trek TOS anymore. Well...what if they 3D them?

Yeah, they have some *great* deals on older TVonDVD content! I've have a cart full of stuff since that sale started but can't bring myself to pull the trigger in case something better comes along! (Yeah... it's sad...)

VEI is offering Free Shipping to North America on Thanksgiving day for purchases of $50 or more. Many of their sets are less than US vendors and with Free Shipping quite a few are excellent bargains.
Thanks for the VEI info, bought McMillan & Wife and Mod Squad complete with free shipping.

I went to Best Buy about two hours after the opened on Thursday. Couldn't get the Game of Thrones sets but got everything else I wanted. It was actually a nice experience, when I went to check out there was no line.
