Hitchcock always (rightly) generates a lot of comment. Given that most of his films have been released in some form on home video, what are your top 5. Mine are:

1. North by Northwest

2. To Catch a Thief

3. The Lady Vanishes

4. Vertigo

5. Rear Window

What you consider his best five films or your favorite five Hitchcock films? There is a difference.

My favorite Hitchcock is easy, as it's also my favorite movie. Nailing down #4 & #5 was a lot harder, as, like Matt said, there are SO many to choose from.

1. Vertigo
2. The Birds
3. North by Northwest
4. Spellbound
5. Rebecca

My remaining favorites that I revisit frequently are (in order of release date): The 39 Steps, The Lady Vanishes, Shadow of a Doubt, Notorious, Strangers on a Train, Rear Window, To Catch a Thief, The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956), and Psycho.

I'm assuming people are listing their five favorite Hitchcock films? If so, then I'll list mine tomorrow.
