Well it's March & I'm still waiting for an MGM catalogue title 4K announcement. I'm sure we'll get a few this year, but then how many people are aware that it's the MGM Centenary, & how many people really care.

I would expect a 4K North by Northwest sometime in the summer, since that was when we got the 4K editions of Rio Bravo and East of Eden last year following their respective screenings at the TCM Festival.

I am aware, I care, but Warner's support doesn't yet seem to be there

It looks like Max is not going to be celebrating the TCM film festival showing some of the films on their channel in April 2024.

According to the Blu-ray box sets that WB released last year for their own centennial, all of those MGM titles are really Warner Bros titles (at least that's how WB seems to consider them), so I wouldn't hold my breath for them to do any big hurrah for MGM's 100th.

If TCM is celebrating it's 30th Anniversary they will probably start with Gone With The Wind, the first film they broadcast hopefully with the original Robert Osborne introduction.
Is there any way to get the TCM monthly schedule for April in advance? We use to be able to see 3 months in advance.

April 14th is the actual anniversary of TCM and they will indeed show Gone With The Wind at 8 PM. which was the first movie shown on TCM. It was also the first thing broadcast on TNT when that cable channel started.

They’re showing The Wind afterwards - man I hope that’s coming to BD at some point this year!

There are 2 days April 20 and 21 that have TBAs during their prime evening slot. These dates are during the TCM Film Festival...fingers crossed!

Oz already has an exemplary 4K disc; anything Warners does with it this year would be a repackaging.

I think Darkrock is referring more to its conspicuous absence from the TCM roster for next month than for any release (the MGM tributes seem to fall only on Mondays on examining the schedule posted above). As you mentioned, Oz already has a 4K disc so I doubt we’ll be seeing another release of that this year. On that note, I am rather curious to know if any MGM films other than North by Northwest were restored to commemorate the centennial as was done for Warner’s centennial.

I'm trying to remember if THE WIZARD OF OZ has ever been broadcast on TCM. I'm thinking that it might not have been, given how widely licensed the film has been to other stations and streamers.
