Does anyone know when and why release rights to HELP! shifted from MPL to Apple? Perhaps the answer might explain why Criterion didn't get it for a 50th Anniversary reissue, like they did for A HARD DAY'S NIGHT?

Not sure. My guess: Apple licensed this title to MPI to start with, and when the agreement ran out, they decided to put out their own Blu-ray. I am not sure they had the same singular ownership of A HARD DAY'S NIGHT, nor might they for LET IT BE. Right issues are convoluted as hell.
