The involvement of superstars like Macca and Elton is one of many reasons I expect this sequel to fail to recapture the original's magic.

Bringing actual stars into the Tap universe feels like a terrible idea.

IMHO the whole thing feels like a terrible idea. It's incredibly rare for a sequel to a excellent first film to be worth viewing, especially comedy films. Just ask The Blues Brothers.

I'll wait for reviews.

Eddie Trunk talked a little bit about the sequel in his Monday show- he has heard that part of the story is the guys all hate each other now, but have to reunite, due to their financial difficulties. Trunk has said numerous times on his show that the majority of bands have personality conflicts within, so my guess is the script (or improvisations) will contain inside jokes that refer to real artists.
