Yeah, I really did not care for the way the UHD blows out the contrast.

Anyway, the point is that Sony has not really "fixed" or remastered the movie. They've just added a Dolby Vision flag to the metadata.

The iTunes version looks great in SDR. Better than the old blu-ray, without the excessive contrast.

It's not so much that as it seems at odds with the film itself and the original poster art. This artwork would have made a great steelbook, for example:
