Ok so the rear speakers are working. I just feel that the background/ambient noise is not loud enough. Now im trying to find where i can individually increase rear speaker volume.

Repeating what you were just told by Gene... "You can go into the receivers setup menu and increase the volume of all the speakers individually."

Schan, pls dont respond to my questions. It seems like im annoying you and every comment you make in response to my questions is either sarcastic rude or condescending. Thanks for your comments, but i think the other posters are much more helpful and corteous and im sure their suggestions are enough.

ok so everything set up. Im now trying to figure out if i have optimal sound. what movie could i use to check to see if my speakers are set up optimally. i feel like my rear surrounds are not set up correctly. but once again, not sure. what movie can i use to test this?

btw channel level tones are set at the following: Front L: -2.5 dB Center: +3.0 dB Front R: -2.5 dB Surround R: -1.0 dB Surround L: -1.0 dB Subwoofer: -9.0 dB
