I am getting lines on my TV watching dvds in progressive scan mode
I have a Hitachi 51f500 rptv and Pioneer Elite dv45a dvd player connected via component video cables.
I noticed it only a few times
Just now I put in SpiderMan2 dvd and I could see scan lines on the start up menu, but not the actual movie. I turned the progressive scan off the dvd player and the lines dissappeared
Does this mean there could be something wrong with dvd player?
I tried switching between 1080i and 540p on my TV but did't do anything
Any thoughts

The menu is different than the video, menus can often times have scanline type looking graphics effects, I wouldn't worry about the DVD players menus, or the DVD menus.

The picture is what matters, you have to go up very close to examine for scanlines, and they'd be visible in the picture as well, or it's not a scanline phenomenon but just a menu thing.

I've also noticed it playing another dvd a couple months ago
it was during the feature and it appeared most at the bottom of the screen
