Well, I hooked up my Marantz 7005 and it does indeed play the subwoofer in Pure Direct (analog and digital) when the Subwoofer Setting is "LFE + Main". The crossover is also in effect when the Front speakers are set to Small.

I guess if AT+T can change the meaning of "Unlimited..." then Denon/Marantz can change the meaning of "Pure Direct". But I'm not buying it.

How many watts is the Denon 4810 at 4 ohms? I mean RMS..

It should say in the manual. I don't have a manual for my 4810(it is basic enough I can get it all set up without one).

But do you mean across 2 channels...5, 7?

If all 5 or 7, not much more than the power it has on 8ohm speakers.

4ohm doesn't create power out of thin air. You still have the normal power limits of the power supply and rails. Last I "checked"(using fuzzy math skills) the 4810 had a total reserve of 515 watts.

That 515 is divided by two, 5 or 7. 4ohm just means you get "there" on less gain.
