DENON's new AVR for Product Yr'2H23/1H24
starts with S#70H for entry level setups.

I was searching for a receiver for my father and found this thread comparing Denon and Yamaha. I am surprised by how much some people dislike Yamaha. I haven't had any experience with Denon, except for on my father-in-law has. I have two Yamahas, a 2040 and an A8A, and both sound fantastic to me and have never given me any issues. At one point I thought my 2040 was defective, but it turned out to be my television causing the issue. Their tech support was fantastic and authorized a replacement of the decoder board with a newer version at no cost. That right there led to my purchasing the newer A8A when I was looking for another unit.

My impression from when I had researched the Yamaha and Denon, was that the Denon gave you more features for the money, but used lower quality hardware. The Yamaha gave you better circuitry and amps, but wasn't as flashy.

Just my impression.

I don’t think anyone here has expressed dislike of Yamaha.
