Okay... I run my iMac to my Flat Panel LCD.

I use the mini dvi to regular dvi adapter. Then, I HAVE been going from DVI to HDMI into the TV.

I'm in need of a longer length, 25 feet about.

Would it be better to just run a long DVI to HDMI cable. Or get a converter plug (DVI >HDMI) , and just run the whole length HDMI.

Mini-DVI to DVI > DVI to HDMI PLUG > HDMI > TV

or

Mini-DVI to DVI > DVI to HDMI

... I hope this makes sense.

Since they are both digital, do you lose any video quality with the extra hookups?

It makes no real difference since it's just electrical pinout conversion. I'd tend to go with the 2nd way just so there's one less connection to possibly get loose.

Or go mini-DVI->HDMI adapter + a long HDMI cable.
