I'm looking at putting a 119' diagonal 16:9 screen in my HT...

At what projector price range will I get a picture that equates to just as good as a WS RPTV?

I'm assuming the x1 won't do it ;)

Never having seen the X1 I can't say if it will or will not be able to go that large. It really all depends on how far back you will be sitting. Most people recommend that you sit back 1.5X the screen width.

I am using the Panny PT-L200 which is comparable to the X1 and at 12 ft. back a 94" diagonal is about the largest acceptable size I can use. There is some slight screen door occasionally, but only if you are really looking for it. I would say that the picture quality is almost as good with DVD's as my 65" Mitsubishi and better with DirecTV, Gamecube and PC games.

hope that helps.

119" will take a fairly good & bright projector to put up what I would consider a very good image. Of couse, there are many many projectors that would put up an image of 100" that would easily beat out a RPTV in a properly set up room.

But, if you are seriously considering 119" then I would consider something like the Sanyo PLV70 that has the brightness and resolution to work with a screen that size. Even so, I would use a high gain screen with it.
