Hello everyone. Glad I found you guys. So I just bought a house and the house is pre wired for surround sound in the family room. Where the cable tv input is there was a plastic cover that I uncovered. In there was a wrapped wires.... 3 blue bundles(with 4 wires in each of them) and 2 coaxial cables. I believe my house is a 5.1 . There appears to be 3 pre wired holes on the top front and two in the rear of the family room. How does this correspond to the wires that are shown here.

You will need to use a digital multi-meter (DMM) with a continuity feature to determine where each wire runs. Once you figure that out you will need to label them so you don't have this problem again.

If you really want the best sound, you won't want to use the positions high up for the main speakers.
