Ever since I've had a DVD player I've fantasized about NewsRadio on DVD. And we'll get the first two seasons relatively soon. Hopefully the next three follow up soon.
The compression may be bad, but it will most likely be better than MAY S1. MAY had 22 episodes on 2 discs, an average of 11. This will have an average of 9.3. Not great by any means, but it could be worse. I do think it'd help if we didn't get two different dubs on the disc, too...
While I'd love extras, I do feel the show speaks for itself and certainly won't suffer for the lack of them.
People need to stop infringing on Dave's naked dance. It just waters it down :frowning: heh
I can't wait for this. I was a bit miffed when it was mentioned "best of" sets were gonna be produced, based on which eps Michael J. Fox liked. Now...don't hate me for this...but if they produce the season sets to sell, keeping all the profits for themselves, and the "MJF best-of sets" donating some of the profits to Parkinsosn disease research, I will buy both
Crap on me. I was thinking of Spin City. DAMNIT. Though I love News Radio too. Please forgive me. This show was great with Phil Hartman...and I still liked it enough to buy the seasons after his untimely demise.
Yeah, I was pretty happy about the news as well, but I would much rather see a 4 disc set with 8 episode per disc and the rest (plus extras) on the fourth. Columbia TriStar is the king of sticking too much material on a disc just to save a couple of bucks (and let's face it, that's all they're saving). I know *I* would be willing to pay a couple bucks more to have a fourth disc.
Even without extras, I'd be willing to pay a little more for the extra disc to make sure Newsradio gets the presentation it deserves. After reading this news on TVShowsOnDVD.com along with how Columbia is going to try to get 25 episodes of The King of Queens onto 3 discs and 22 episodes of Dawson's Creek on 4 discs, it makes me wonder how committed they are to releasing quality TV on DVD as opposed to just getting out these series just to cash in while the market is hot.
I'm really glad Columbia is releasing all these shows I've been craving to have on DVD and I don't want to sound unappreciative that these series are coming out, but I think most people would prefer to spend a little extra and see them done right (see Fox and Paramount).
I really hope Dawson's Creek will be put onto 4 DVD-18 discs. I mean...they put 13 episodes onto 3 discs for the first season. I really, really don't think THEY would even put 22 episodes onto 4 discs.
