It's only been available pan and scan in SD on iTunes

Ahhh....well the original widescreen DVD wasn't horrible ....it certainly wasn't cleaned up at all..but it had decent color... looking forward to this Blu-ray

It's just like a 4K transfer, but cranked up to 6.

Actually, most Vista “6k“ scans are 4k scans turned sideways.

Same situation with most 8k 65mm scans. They’re still 4k information.

This is not to denigrate the k-ness of scans, as higher k is in use.

It’s just difficult to always discern what marketing verbiage means.

Would you say it’s typical that sound and picture are a jump above the iTunes counterpart?

Just curious.

I picked up the iTunes version of the film and will watch it soon.

I wouldn't call it a jump as I really had to look and listen for any slight differences between the two sources.
