1.33 Academy is the original ratio

I recall seeing this in theaters during the last re-release (1990 or thereabouts) and I distinctly remembered wondering why the aspect ratio was square-shaped and not 1.85:1, thereby filling the screen.

By no means do I know but that would indicate to me that Disney is remaining faithful to the original ratio. If they put out their biggest and smaller titles in the proper AR, why would they just randomly decide to screw up the AR on one of their flagship titles?

The main titles are obviously composed for widescreen.
