My wife posted this in the Apple support forums and has gotten no response. Any ideas here? I did a bit of searching but couldn't find anything. Thanks.
I was recently looking into backing up my files and realized that my saved mail takes up a lot of space. I decided to delete some old, large e-mail files, but the affected .mbox file size didn't change (found in my user library/mail/mailboxes/saved messages).
I deleted more than 100 messages and erased my mail trash. I quit Mail and restarted, but I haven't tried restarting my Mac.
In case this doesn't show up in my post, I'm using Mail 1.3.11 on OS X 10.3.9. I tried to search on this topic in Apple Discussions and Google but couldn't find anything.
