I did notice that there was only one other member, besides myself, who went for "The Complete Jacques Tati".
I suspect that B-ROLL must also be a genius, as well.

Tati was clearly the genius ... clearly Peter Sellers and Rowan Atkinson (and to some degree ... Robin Williams {RIP} and Jim Carrey) all clearly were "influenced" by his work ... Tati in turn was clearly influenced by Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd and Buster Keaton (et al) ...

I went box set crazy during last summer's sale and picked up The Complete Jacques Tati, John Cassavetes: Five Films, and Martin Scorsese’s World Cinema Project Vol. 1 box sets (along with Valerie and Her Week of Wonders, Sword of Doom, Eraserhead, The Innocents, and Don't Look Now.) Without a doubt that was the most I'd spent during one of the 50% off sales. (And, to date, Valerie and Her Week of Wonders is the only Blu-ray I've gotten around to watching. )

Based on everyone's recent list of Criterion coups (and coupons), I am inspired to take myself on a "Blind Buy" adventure upon the next sale. Yup, each and every list had at least one title that I have never viewed before. So there it is, I'm gonna go for that cross-sampling ride and further expand on what I thought I knew about film.
