I will be receiving a new Dayton sub tomorrow and being that my current sub only has a volumn knob, I am not sure how to set the other settings on the Dayton.

How should I setup the crossover and phase settings on the Dayton? Also the crossover settings on my receiver is currently set at 150, should I leave it there?

I have the Onkyo tx-sr601 receiver, Polk CSi20 center and Polk rm6005 surrounds.

One of these days I will graduate from being a newbie but until then I really appreciate your guys advice!

Set the crossover to the highest setting and let the receiver do the job.

Re phase, does it have continuously variable or an 0 – 180 degrees switch?

It has an 0 – 180 degrees switch.

So, set the crossover setting on the sub AND the receiver to the highest setings?

Set the sub's crossover to the highest possible. Let the receiver control the crossover. To set phase, listen to the sub at 0 and then 180. Choose the phase setting which sounds loudest in your room. And do set levels using an SPL meter.
