HD-DVD/Blu Ray players and overscan (1 Viewer)

I have a Hitachi 43" RPTV which has pretty bad overscan (about 6%), but adjusting it requires that I open my TV up, which is something I'm reluctant to do. That's why my Malata DVD player's x-y scaling feature is a godsend. So I was wondering, will HD-DVD/Blu Ray players also have the ability to adjust the picture size for overscan?

i'm not sure an underscan feature will be included. that's not something that is a part of either format but rather something a manufacturer may implement in their hardware.

if your hitachi is an HD set, overscan can be adjusted in the service menu.

Really?? I was under the impression that there was no option for Hitachi RPTVs to adjust overscan in the service menu and had to be adjusted manually by opening up the set and fiddling with the switches. How can this be done through the service menu?

I have a 43UWX10B, BTW.
