I got a Harmon Kardon AVR 210 from my mon when she moved to her new place. It is about 10 years old. She said it was working when she moved and put it in storage. I was installing my new ceiling speakers and started to hook them up. They would not work. I get sound out of the center channel and the sub, but nothing from the other 4. I did hear sound for a second but cut out.
I checked all the speaker wire, I hooked the new ceiling speakers up to the center channel and they work. I am thinking somthing might be blown in the receiver.
Is it work getting fixed or buying a new one? Or am I over looking somthing?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had the AVR 500 which is older than that one, and when it went out, I moved on. They're not worth fixing because of HDMI switching, and HD sound formats. I am not sure if the 210 has component video switching, but again it is not HDMI. Move on and get a newer one.

    Try doing a factory reset.
First put the unit in Standby by pressing the
System Power Control button 2. Next,
press and hold the Tone Mode6and the
    FM Mode Selector@buttons for three
    seconds.
The unit will turn on automatically and display
the RESET message in the Main
    Information Display
If it doesn't help then look for a newer one. A 210 isn't worth repairing.

I did reset it, and still the same thing. Looks like a best buy run today!
