External USB Drive through Xtreamer through Receiver? (1 Viewer)

Hello, I have some demo blu-rays etc. on an external HDD.

My question is: Can I connect the External HDD through an Xtreamer Pro that further goes through a Yamaha Receiver for proper Dolby / DTS sound output?

So Ext. HDD --> USB Cable --> Xtreamer --> HDMI --> Yam Receiver

Or would that not work out?

From what I can tell, it seems like it should work. On the other hand, most Blu-Ray and UHD players are capable of playing back video files from a drive. The main issue is having them in a compatible format.

Yes, I am aware that it would playback the files easily. I wish to know if I'd get Dolby / DTS output as well from it or not.

I am not at the location where this setup is, otherwise I would have tried it myself. Do let me know if possible.
