I have a infocus 4805 procjector and am looking for a dvd player for under $300. Would I benefit from one that converts to 1080. Any suggestions? Maybe a Bravo D2? Help!

The 4805's native res is a 854x480, which means if you feed it an upconverted 1080 signal it will just have to downconvert to 480 again. A better bet is to feed it a 480i signal and let the projector's Faroudja deinterlacer go to work. If you do get something like the D2, you'll still want to send it a signal matching the native res of the projector. If you follow the link for "My Gear" in my sig you can see a comparison between 480, 720 and 1080. It's the last image. You can also see the difference between a cheap deinterlacer and the Faroudja.
