OK, so I started my system about 10 years ago with a Harmon Kardon AVR210, polk RM 6200 and a DCM 10" sub; and ten years ago it sounded awesome! Fast forward to 4 years ago. The HK overheated and died, so in a pinch and against my better judgement I picked up a Sony ( yea I know) str-dg600 open box at best buy for a couple hundred bucks. I was running optical from cable box, and coax from DVD and it sounded ok, although the sony sucks for any type of tweaking or tuning or... anything for that matter. But I digress, fast forward to last week. I just got the new direct TV Genie and guess what... No optical out!!! andddd, only one Coax works. So its time for a new receiver. Wife said do what you want so I started my research and i think this is the one..

I really wanted HDMI switching, on screen setup, airplay, (i have a driod but have the app to use it) and that setup microphone thingy...
Is this the best bang for the buck. Also, its on black fiday special for $279.0
Thanks fin advance for any help, or advice;

The Denon 1613 is a real nice entry level receiver. My brother has the 1610 and even if it's a bit difficult to setup and operate the performance and over-all value is very satisfying. $279 is a great price for a new one. A factory refurbished model from ac4l.com is $249. Also consider the Yamaha 473, Pioneer 822 and Onkyo 414. But the 1613 is my pick of that group.
