Vague much? What would you like to see happen to this film?
Adidditions, clean up, etc. People are talking about this film again, its length and such… I thought Mr. Harris’ criterion release was definitive… I just wondering, at this point, if anything more can be done. Not that I want it, just in general, barring finding new materials. I think the Criterion is perfect.

I’m no expert, like Mr. Harris is, but I would think the roadshow wouldn’t transfer well into 4k. I could be wrong.
Two words. Large Format.

I’ll wager it’s a “Yes”.

But then again, I’m no expert, either.

The eventual Kino 4k will most likely just be the Theatrical Cut.

What makes you think it would come from Kino? This film is one of many titles that MGM considers as a cash cow title that they’ve released several times already. However, MGM would only do the general release version for 4K as I think Criterion owns the reconstructed roadshow cut.

This is the best restoration of the movie that needed it the most. Thank you Mr. Harris, you have made my decade.

If the movie was recast today I would suggest Peter Dinklage as Dinkler.

You Vandals!
