It’s getting closer to March 1st when we start our first HTF “Western” Movies Challenge. I hope my preorder of “3 Godfathers” Blu-ray arrives before the end of the month. March 26th is cutting it close.

My 4K/UHD of "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral" has shipped and should arrive by February 27th. However, I'm not going to watch it until March 1st so it will be the first movie I watched during this "Western Movie Challenge".

Right now, I have 27 Westerns listed below. Those titles were purchased after I completed my "100 All-Time Favorite Westerns Challenge" back in December 2021. Many of the following I have sampled, but never watched the movie in its entirety. A few I haven't received yet which are Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, 5 Card Stud, The Shootist and Quigley Down Under. I expect to receive those four titles before the end of March. There is a chance I might add to this list but also a chance I might drop some from this list. It depends on circumstances and timing.

  1. Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (Paramount 4K/UHD)
  2. 5 Card Stud (Vinegar Syndrome Blu-ray)
  3. The Shootist (Arrow Blu-ray)
  4. Quigley Down Under (Shout Factory! 4K/UHD)
  5. Buck and the Preacher (Criterion Blu-ray)
  6. Fancy Pants (Kino Blu-ray)
  7. High Plains Drifter (Kino 4K/UHD)
  8. Tomahawk (Kino Blu-ray)
  9. Border River (Kino Blu-ray)
  10. They Came to Cordura (Kino Blu-ray)
  11. The White Buffalo (Kino Blu-ray)
  12. The Tall T (The Ranown Westerns Criterion 4K/UHD)
  13. Decision at Sundown (The Ranown Westerns Criterion 4K/UHD)
  14. Buchanan Rides Alone (The Ranown Westerns Criterion 4K/UHD)
  15. Ride Lonesome (The Ranown Westerns Criterion 4K/UHD)
  16. Comanche Station (The Ranown Westerns Criterion 4K/UHD)
  17. Cimarron (1931) (Warner Archive Blu-ray)
  18. Hell Bent for Leather (Audie Murphy Collection III Kino Blu-ray)
  19. Posse from Hell (Audie Murphy Collection III Kino Blu-ray)
  20. Showdown (Audie Murphy Collection III Kino Blu-ray)
  21. The Last Posse (Vudu HD Digital)
  22. Outlaw Women (Vudu HD Digital)
  23. Warpath (iTunes HD Digital)
  24. Young Guns (Lionsgate 4K/UHD)
  25. Relentless (Vudu HD Digital)
  26. The Great Missouri Raid (Vudu HD Digital)
  27. Red Mountain (Vudu HD Digital)

I would add Cimarron '31 and Wichita Warner Archive Blu-rays to my list if I could get them on sale for $12 ea. or less.

Who is this famous entertainer in his younger days? This should be easy as his face didn't change much over the years.

My guess is Jack Benny and he did join the Navy in World War I.
Yes, it's Jack Benny who was in the Navy in World War I. He got his basic training at Great Lakes Navy Training Center along with a couple of other Navy Boots from Milwaukee. Pat O'Brien and Spencer Tracy.

Criterion flash sale live.
I had my cart loaded and completed my order less than five minutes after the sale began. I got The Roaring Twenties, Blood Simple and Lone Star 4K/UHD plus Blast of Silence and Nothing but a Man Blu-rays using two $10 codes that knocked $20 off my order.
