I was wondering if there is any way to convert a 5.1 receiver to a 6/7.1 setup without buying a new receiver.
Some possible solutions i was looking at was a line converter that changes the speaker output from the rears to a audio cord and run it thru a prologic reciever that I have to run three rear speakers. Any suggestions?

If the 5.1 receiver has pre-outs, it's better to use the line-level outputs of the rear channels and feed them into a pro-logic receiver for the rear channel processing. But I doubt it's worth the hassle because DPL has a nasty habit of collapsing the soundfield when used for the rear soundstage in this manner.
