African Queen looks great on blu-ray. Still a good film. I too would like to see When World's Collide and many others from this year...

I like The Greatest Show on Earth a lot...One of the great Jimmy Stewart roles--and he never takes off his make up. Betty Hutton and Wilde are great too. And you can see from his performance here how DeMille cast Heston in his next great role for him.

For 1953, I must add "The Band Wagon" which for my money ranks as the equal to "Singin' in the Rain" as the two greatest MGM musicals ever.

Shaaaaaaane! Shane would really be something to see in HD, the current R1 DVD has a lot of room for improvement.

I'm not the biggest fan of musicals but yes Band Wagon is one of the better ones.

Warner has said that all films that were made in 3D are under review for release in 3D Blu-ray. It's coming, just don't know when. The package will contain both 3D and 2D versions.

Oh man, the more of these beautiful posters I see in this thread, the more I wish I had the patience to learn how to make my own custom cover art for most of the BDs and DVDs in my collection.
