Disney+ Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration (1 Viewer)

Sometime in December this premiered on ABC and is now on Disney+.

Rita Moreno hosts a presentation of the Beauty and the Beast story with scenes from the 1992 animated film cut with newly produced live action musical sequences.

The cast includes:
Belle - H.E.R.
The Beast - Josh Groban
Gaston - Joshua Henry
Lumiere - Martin Short
Cogsworth - David Alan Grier
Mrs. Potts - Shania Twain
Le Fou - Rizwan Manji
Chip - Leo Abelo Perry

And a special appearance by original Belle voice Paige O'Hara as Librarian.

I had very mixed thoughts on H.E.R.'s performance of Belle with some parts of songs working for me and some not. Josh Groban was perfection.

Disney's math is off here. Beauty and the Beast opened November 22, 1991, so it actually turned 31 in 2022 when the special premiered. Aladdin was the Disney Animation release in 1992 celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2022.
