What happens if Tony Stark’s tech falls into the wrong hands? Find out in the newly announced series, Marvel Studios’ Armor Wars, coming to Disney+.

Revealed during The Walt Disney Company’s 2020 Investor Day presentation by Kevin Feige, president, Marvel Studios, and chief creative officer, Marvel, Don Cheadle returns to the role as James Rhodes — aka War Machine — who must face these tech consequences in this classic Marvel story.

Surprise: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel has decided to make Armor Wars into a theatrical movie instead of a Disney+ TV show. The head writer who was working on the TV version will write the script for the movie.

Given this news, should this thread be moved over into the Movies section?

Hopefully this can be put in one of Marvel’s slots for 2024 so that the series(movie) gets out of its development hell. Maybe it can even get Blade’s slot for Nov 2023 (although that is highly doubtful). (Yes, I know Marvel hasn’t announced that Blade is moving, but it certainly is.)

(This is referencing the rumor that Harrison Ford will be the new Thunderbolt Ross.)

What makes you think it is in development hell?

Just because we haven't heard anything about it for a while doesn't mean Marvel hasn't been working productively on it.

Although I am very invested in the MCU, I don't understand the internet's insatiable need to know everything that Marvel is doing at all times.

Because it was announced quite a while ago and it seems like there was a period where it was in limbo. Now, that may because of William Hurt’s death and the time they needed to figure out what to do about it.

I think that's more of a function of production getting bogged down more than expected by the pandemic and cinemas reopening slower than expected. They built up a bit of a backlog of content, and there are only so many time slots that work for Marvel/Disney's marketing machine. So it just took longer to get around to this one.
