Just moved into a new home and I have 7.1 pre-installed speakers in walls and ceilings.
I have not had my AV amp hooked up to this before as in the old home I had a sound bar.

I find it very annoying to have to power up the amp every time I watch tv. The sound bar used to come on and off automatically with the tv.

So I am looking fo an amp that has no frills. no tape input no muti video - no dvd - etx.
All i want is a straight amp that will play into my speakers that will power on/off with the tv.

any ideas?

The only solution I can think of is to just leave the receiver on. In general, receivers use switching power supplies, so when they are idle, they consume very little power.
