Today, Amazon announced a new, updated 4K-capable Firestick to their family of devices: the Fire TV Stick 4K Max. The new device features Wi-Fi 6, an Alexa Voice Remote with four quick-launch app buttons for Prime Video (of course), Netflix, Disney+, and Hulu. It also supports HDR10, HDR10+, HLG and Dolby Vision high dynamic range, Dolby Atmos audio (release materials even mention Atmos for Netflix), and Live View Picture in Picture (I assume when used with a Fire Recast DVR). The new device, though, is still a bit skimpy on storage space, offering only 8Gb, but does offer 2Gb of memory (compared to the 1.5 Gb on the older Fire TV Stick 4K). Amazon also claims the Fire TV Stick 4K Max is more environmentally friendly than previous models, carrying an Energy Star certification and a Low Power Mode when not in use. Customer reviews have not been kind - apparently this device is not Dolby Atmos compatible with Disney+, and Vudu users have been complaining about HD only playback. This is mostly from users who upgraded from the previous FireStick 4K who found no such issues on that device with these two apps. I contacted Disney+ support, and they confirmed that they are having issues with the FireStick 4K Max.

Placed an order for this today to do a comparison with the Roku Streaming Stick 4K I just reviewed.
