Wonderful news :) Also hope for some great Liz Taylor classics. Hot summer day like today I want to watch Cat on a Hot Tin Roof but I will hold out for a BLU release possibly in 2015 :)
I would hope for Taylor too, although didn't see her mentioned.
Well, it seems we can't have Raintree County, so some others I would be most interested in are the Sandpiper, Reflections in a Golden Eye, National Velvet, Little Women, Ivanhoe, Butterfield 8, etc..

Mr. Harris is not only an esteemed HTF member, but an industry insider with a global reputation...his revelation of this news should be universally welcomed by ALL of us...remember how long it took for us to get a proper blu-ray of "Lawrence"...Mr. Harris was one of the key people behind the scenes who made sure Sony did it CORRECTLY!!!

First off-You need to finish my post which i thanked Mr Harris for this promising news. Second. I dont doubt what he was told by Warner, but we have been promised things a number of times before from Warner. And third. you do not have to tell me who Robert Harris is , I have high regard for him.

I'm hoping for Suddenly, Last Summer, though that seems a remote possibility from WB, given it was released on DVD as a Columbia Classic; still Amazon is listing it as an instant video in HD, so it looks like an HD master has been done. I can dream....

I'd love all of those films from WHV or WAC, of course, but a properly restored National Velvet would be wonderful and is at the top of my list. The DVD that WB has out now is one of the original MGM discs from the very early days of DVD...1997, I believe. It doesn't look so hot, but I was told about 10 years ago on one of the chats here that it's a big seller for WB.

I saw the film screened at the TCM Film Festival in April. It was a last minute addition to the schedule as a tribute to Mickey Rooney. They didn't have much time to get a good print, so it didn't look very good, but it was great to see it on the big screen nonetheless. Margaret O'Brien came to say a few words about Mickey after the screening. She was escorted by none other than Joey Luft, Judy Garland's son!

I couldn't understand the complaines about the "non-activity" (which is nonsense) in the first place.

As far as I can tell were the Warner Brothers the studio, that was the one that put out older titles from day one and without pause.
I've bought so much stuff on Blu-ray this year I can frankly stand a break; at least my wallet can. I'll take RAH's advice and start saving now.

Warner doesn't have access to Columbia titles. I'd love Suddenly, Last Summer as well, though...maybe we'll see it from Sony, or Twilight Time or Criterion? I'd love to see Criterion get their hands on an Elizabeth Taylor film!Great to see all the love for Elizabeth in this thread. She was #4 on Forbes' top earning dead celebrity of 2013, two spots ahead of Marilyn. She still sells, WB! ;) Hopefully we'll see some of her films in 2015.

I see Minnelli and Astaire. Hopefully some of the great MGM musicals that have yet to be released. Could it be The Band Wagon? Fingers crossed.
I've no doubt that THE BAND WAGON is at the top of the list of MGM musicals coming to BluRay. It's the highest profile Freed unit title that's still MIA and with the names Minnelli and Astaire attached to it, it's a shoo-in!

Without too much speculating lets hope those Hammer Horror are from their box set..
I hope we get THEM!, The Thing from Another World , The Beast From 20000 Fathoms...more titles from their Noir and Gangster sets, along with some titles from their Signature series collections.. High Sierra, and hopefully they can upgrade some of the Warner Archive DVDs to Archive blu rays..
Give me the Thin Man series on blu ray !! :D

For a while I have been rather critical of Warner but I have to say that currently the quantity of their output may have decreased but the good thing about this is that Warner now usally hits a homerun with every release that is new to Blu-ray. The only other studio that does release similar quality is Sony but their catalog releases are down to a trifle and most of their catalog releases are now seemingly handled by TT.So whatever the titles are I am happy to hear they'll be coming. Unfortunately I suspect there will not be too many bigger profile and/or roadshow titles as those will usually be properly released and not "just" through Warner Archives.

Great news, & with Warner's track record you know they will all look as good as they possibly can do. No more complaints from me, honest guv'nor!
