We're looking around for a conventional 15 year mortgage before rates start to increase. Please share any experience or stories (positive and negative) about Lending Tree. Thanks.

Good experience. Very quick, had quotes from all of the lenders. Did not go with any of them, as my previous mortgage company made things very easy, quick, and at lower cost for me. However, if I were intent on dealing with an new mortgage company, I would go through Lending Tree again.

I would expect it to be like most online services : great if you know exactly what you are doing. If you have any credit glitches however I would turn to a local specialist. (so long as THEY know what they are doing!)

If youre open to other suggestions, Ive used E-Trade Mortgage to REFI twice... I loved the service and the rates.

I did my original mortgage through mortgageselect.com. They sold it to a bank. When I refinanced, I went to lendingtree.com but decided to get it through the bank servicing my original. They made it easy, and I had a trust relationship with them already.
